Dr. Marco Fargetta
Dr. Marco Fargetta was born in Catania (Italy) in December 1976. He graduated in Computer Engineering at the University of Catania in 2002 with a thesis on a new Java extension improving the Computational Reflection. In 2006 he holds the PhD in Computer Engineering from the same University with a thesis titled "A Model for Automatically Supporting Advanced Reservation, Allocation and Pricing in a Grid Environment" and since 2003, starting the PhD, he has been involved with Grid technologies working on different aspects and projects. After the PhD he was involved for a short period with the Department of Mathematics and Informatics of Catania University to work at a Grid project funded by the Sicilian Regional Government, TriGrid VL, on the development of a Grid service based on GLOBUS Toolkit. From March 2007 to April 2008, he worked in the Department of Physics and Astronomy of Catania University at the project ICEAGE, founded by the European Union, where he was working on the set-up and support of a multi-middleware training infrastructure for Grid. From April 2008 to October 2008, he worked for Consorzio COMETA (an organisation grouping all universities and research centres in Sicily) at the project PI2S2, funded by the Italian Government, to develop several patches for the gLite Grid middleware in order to improve the support of MPI applications. From March 2009 until now he is working for INFN (the Italian Institute for Nuclear Physics) at the European project EUAsiaGrid where he is the responsible for all the training activities.
